State Convention
On April 17th, Alaska FFA officially closed out its 50th Annual State Convention. Nearly 260 Alaska FFA Members from across 19 chapters were in attendance. Members put their skills and knowledge to the test through Career Development Events (CDEs) and Leadership Development Events (LDEs), showcasing the hard work and dedication they've poured into their agricultural education all year long.

State Convention is also a time for community, where students from the Kenai Peninsula to the Interior get to forge lasting friendships with fellow members who share the same passion for agriculture and leadership. Outstanding members were recognized for their achievements through degrees and awards, honoring the incredible contributions FFA members make both in and out of the classroom. Students had the opportunity also to interact with 5 Visiting Officers from around the country:
T. Wayne Williams- National FFA Southern Region Vice President
Alex Wise- 25-26 Oregon FFA State President
Parker Smith- 25-26 Wisconsin FFA State Vice President
Kaitlyn Maruszewski- 25-26 Indiana FFA State President
Jazmin Palma- 25-26 North Carolina State President

The Next Generation
2026-2027 Alaska FFA State Officer Team
In the convention's closing hours, Alaska FFA said farewell to the 2025-2026 State Officer Team and welcomed its newest leaders:
Liam Wade, North Pole FFA- State President
Faith Stewart, Mat-Su Career Tech FFA- State Vice President
Bella Pratt, Palmer FFA- State Secretary
Layla Harrison, Palmer FFA-State Treasurer
Braxtyn Clark, Mat-Su Career Tech FFA-State Reporter

State Officer Q&A
When asked what they most love about FFA, these were their responses:
Liam Wade: "Having not been raised on a farm myself, my favorite thing about FFA has always been how the organization seeks to educate all students about agriculture, not only the traditional farmer and rancher. And only because of this mission of education, am I where I am today and am proud to be able to advocate for the agricultural industry and all of its amazing work accomplished by all of its amazing people."
Faith Stewart: "How it gives people a place to grow into who they’re meant to be. For me, FFA became so much more than just an organization; it became a family that pushed me outside my comfort zone and helped me find my passion. The friendships, memories, and opportunities I’ve gained through this organization have genuinely changed my life, and I wouldn’t be who I am today without it."
Bella Pratt: "I love FFA because it gives every member the same opportunity to grow as a leader in agriculture, despite their background or passion."
Layla Harrison: "The leadership and the personal development in the FFA are truly something that impacts someone for the rest of their life. The knowledge, hands-on learning, and advocacy for agriculture that lies in the FFA is something special. I hope to help every member find the growth that I found in the FFA and the rich knowledge it has to offer."
Braxtyn Clark: "What I love most about FFA is that it feels like a family, an organization that pushes students to step outside their comfort zones, become leaders, and build friendships and memories that last a lifetime." State Happenings!
