Throughout my time in FFA my favorite part of FFA has been being able to compete at different levels. My personal favorite LDE was prepared public speaking, and I feel like it is a very good example of how FFA helps members become more confident and skilled at public speaking. FFA also helps develop leaders, and I know this because I have seen it firsthand many times throughout my 7 years in FFA. Being a member in this amazing organization has helped to prepare me for my future career in the legal field. This fall I plan to begin my pre-law degree and then go to law school. I believe that FFA has helped to give me the confidence that I need to become a lawyer. There is no limit to the things that you can do in this organization and I highly recommend middle and high school students to join this organization so they can have the opportunity to grow like I have! 

In FFA I have learned so much and met so many different and amazing people, I have also had the ability to compete in many different events, such as Employment Skills and Ag Mechanics, though my favorite would have to be Floriculture. My SAE project of Goat Production also helped me find my passion in the Human diet and Nutrition, so I'm hoping to become a dietitian/nutritionist in the future. FFA has taught me many different life skills, such as how to do an interview and speak publicly.

Competing is one of the best parts of FFA; my favorite CDE is Environmental and Natural Resources and my favorite LDE is Extemporaneous Speaking. In my time in FFA I have experimented with many different SAEs; my most recent being a newsletter for our chapter to promote and advocate for agriculture. FFA has taught me various valuable lessons from how to give a speech to how to use a soil triangle but more importantly it has taught me about my potential and the many opportunities out there for me. While my plans for the future are not set in stone, I am excited for how FFA continues my journey!

I encourage students to join FFA because there is no organization out there with better opportunities or values. FFA grows you into a leader and unleashes your full potential. 

One of my favorite CDE's is Ag Issues. Currently, my SAE project is raising and selling Market Hogs at the Alaska State Fair. I have so much fun doing this and it has taught me so much over the years. It has taught me responsibility and a sense of accomplishment and pride throughout the years that I have done this project. Currently I am a junior in high school, but after I graduate, I plan on going to college or trade school. 

     Overall, I think that members should join FFA because it offers amazing opportunities for leadership development, carrer exploration, networking opportunities and scholarship opportunities. FFA has something for everybody and you don’t have to come from an agricultural background in oder to join FFA either. FFA has offered me so much and I am so grateful for all of the opportunities that I have been presented with and been able to explore!
